The Honourable Chief Commissioner of the Public Complaints Commission (PCC), Bashir Abubakar MFR, has expressed his commitment to collaborating closely with the Centre for Media Policy and Accountability (CMPA) in fulfilling its statutory mandate.
This announcement was made during a working visit by the CMPA, led by Executive Secretary Dr. Suleiman A. Suleiman, which took place yesterday in Abuja.
Honourable Bashir Abubakar emphasized the importance of synergy between the PCC and the CMPA, assuring the Centre of the Commission’s full support in this collaborative initiative. He noted that working together would allow both organizations to learn from each other and ultimately serve the public more effectively.

The Chief Commissioner also highlighted that the CMPA’s visit was timely and aligned with recommendations from the National Assembly, urging the Commission to engage with other anti-corruption agencies for effective collaboration. He underscored the strategic importance of training and retraining to enhance productivity.
Additionally, the Chief Ombudsman of the Federation encouraged the Centre to assist the PCC in improving its funding and in modernizing its operations through digitization.
In his opening remarks, Dr. Suleiman stated that the CMPA was established to promote democratic accountability and human rights in the public sphere. He further indicated that the purpose of the visit was to strengthen their existing relationship with the PCC and to collaborate as co-whistle blowers in their efforts.
