Liverpool’s goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher is ready to transfer to Brentford following the agreement of a £12.5 million deal, potentially increasing to £18 million with performance-related bonuses.
At the age of 26, the Republic of Ireland player is expected to take over the starting position from Brentford’s current first choice, Mark Flekken, who is transferring to Bayer Leverkusen in Germany.
The Bundesliga team has settled on a transfer fee near £8 million for the 31-year-old Dutch goalkeeper.
Kelleher has one year remaining on his contract with Liverpool, but Giorgi Mamardashvili, a goalkeeper from Valencia, is set to join the Premier League champions in July to vie for the top position alongside established starter Alisson Becker.
Since his debut five years prior, Kelleher has participated in 25 Premier League matches for Liverpool.

Additionally, he has appeared in over 40 cup fixtures for the team, contributing to his collection of two Premier League titles, one Champions League, one FA Cup, two League Cups, and one UEFA Super Cup during his tenure at Anfield.
Mark Flekken, an international player from the Netherlands, transferred to Brentford from Freiburg in Germany for an estimated £11 million in May 2023.
He recorded the highest number of clean sheets among Bundesliga goalkeepers in the last two seasons and has further enhanced his profile while playing for Brentford.
In the last two Premier League seasons, Flekken has featured in all but two matches, achieving 14 clean sheets and providing three assists.
