Briefing journalists after the meeting, the state APC Chairman, Elder Omeni Sobotie, described the interaction as cordial and strategic.

“Since the event of Monday, the 28th of April, this is the first time we are having a session with the governor, who is now the leader of our party in the state.

“We felt it was important to bring certain issues to his attention and to formally table some of our requests,” Sobotie said.

When asked about the expectations from the meeting, the APC state chairman emphasized the party’s alignment with the governor’s leadership and vision.

“If the governor told you he is the leader of the party and everybody should queue behind him, who is going to question that? Who is going to go contrary to that?

“We just came to pledge our support and solidarity with him. It’s as simple as that, nothing complex,” he added.

On what Deltans should expect following the governor’s defection, Sobotie offered a message of optimism, “renewed hope for the MORE Agenda.”

Gov. Oborevwori’s transition from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC has reshaped the political dynamics in the state, with many stakeholders now watching closely to see how this shift will influence governance and political collaboration across party lines.
