Adeniji was kidnapped by bandits in Abuja approximately two months ago, and despite the party paying a ransom of N50 million for his release, it was revealed that he had already been killed prior to the payment. His death has left the party in deep sorrow.

The memo described the closure as a tribute to Adeniji, whose untimely demise has cast a shadow over the party’s activities.

The memo, titled “Secretariat Closure for the Mourning of the Director of Administration,” stated, “The National Secretary has approved the clos ure of the National Secretariat from all party/work activities with immediate effect until Monday, April 14, 2025, after receiving the news of the sad demise of the Director of Administration, Hon. AbdulRaif Adekunle Adeniji.”

The decision aims to give staff time to reflect and pray for Adeniji’s family and loved ones.
