African body to honour leading women in food, agro-business.
The leading African Women’s Food Fellowship (LAWFF) has called for nominations to celebrate women from the ages of 25 to 45 who are excelling in the food and agro-business sector.

This announcement was posted on the organization’s X handle, with the organization stating that women with three years working experience in the agri-food sector with demonstrable impact, who are citizens of an African country at the time of application are eligible to be nominated.

Categories for the nominations include top chefs, disrupter, trailblazers and ecosystem enablers, and food beverage narrative changers.

“For the top chef category, artists who through their creativity and innovative cooking methods have changed the narrative of African food.

“The ecosystem enablers category consists of public and non-profit female leaders who introduce and scale innovative products, ideas and opportunities that contribute to a more sustainable and all-inclusive food system.

“Other categories are food/beverage narrative changers, storytellers and digital media females that create a content experience or products that amplify positive change and opportunity.

“The ecosystem change narrative connects people to different African foods and beverages, journalists, bloggers, content creators and food stylists, curators and package food entrepreneurs.

“The disrupter category is for female change -makers who create and adopt tools, models, approaches and or harness technology to solve challenges within the food system such as inventors, researchers, and product development entrepreneurs.

“The closing date for nomination in a category is January 18, 2025,” the organization said.
