ADC disowns fake State Chairmen list, online registration scam, warns Nigerians against fraudsters
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has strongly disowned a list of purported state chairmen making the rounds on social media, warning the public that the party has made no such appointments and is not connected to any ongoing online registration drives claiming affiliation with the party.

In a press statement signed by the National Publicity Secretary and official spokesperson for the opposition coalition, the ADC urged Nigerians to disregard fake news and unauthorized announcements falsely attributed to the party.

The party emphasized that any legitimate communication from the ADC will be published only through verified channels, particularly the official X (formerly Twitter) handle of the National Publicity Secretary. It advised members of the public to double-check any information relating to the party’s leadership, membership registration, or activities before engaging.

The ADC also condemned what it described as a “desperate attempt by fraudsters” to defraud unsuspecting Nigerians through fake online platforms, falsely claiming to offer official party registration services. The party reiterated that it has not authorized any online portals or payment platforms for new member registration and is not currently running any such programme.

“We urge Nigerians to be extremely cautious and not fall victim to these scams. Anyone seeking information about the ADC should rely solely on official statements and channels. Any activity outside these sources should be treated as fraudulent,” the statement read.

The ADC reaffirmed its commitment to transparency and accountability and promised to keep the public informed about its legitimate operations and updates regarding the coalition of opposition parties. It also assured Nigerians that it would take legal action against those behind the impersonation and online fraud targeting the party’s reputation and the public’s trust.
