The Adamawa State Police Command has launched an investigation into a tragic event in which a 35-year-old man named Ibrahim Usman from Mujara, Mubi South LGA, was reportedly struck by a stray bullet fired by a patrol team from the Nigeria Customs Service.
This information was shared in a statement by Sp Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, ANIPR, the Police Public Relations Officer for the Adamawa State Command, on Thursday, July 17, 2025.
The incident took place on July 16, 2025, around 4:00 PM. Following a distress call, officers from the ADSU Gude Divisional Police headquarters, led by the DPO who responded quickly.

The victim was taken to the Federal Medical Centre in Mubi, where he was later pronounced dead.
Commissioner of Police for Adamawa State, CP Dankombo Morris PSC, has informed the appropriate Customs authorities and assigned operatives from the State CID to conduct a thorough investigation and provide a report.
The Command assures the public that justice will be pursued, and the findings of the investigation will be communicated in due time.
