The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has announced plans to mobilize over 10 million voters across the South East ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The party also declared its readiness to dominate the region’s political landscape.
In a communique issued at the end of its expanded zonal working committee meeting in Enugu, the party said it was determined to rebuild, rebrand, and reposition itself to win all elective positions in the zone during the 2027 polls.
The meeting, which was attended by delegates and party chieftains from all five South East states, discussed strategies to strengthen ADC structures from the polling units to the state levels.
It also focused on consolidating the party’s position as the preferred platform for a coalition to defeat what it described as the “reactionary and bankrupt All Progressives Congress (APC) led federal government.”
“ADC South East is committed to mobilize over ten million members into ADC in South East before the end of 2025,” the communique stated.
The party said its resolve was not just to participate in elections but to win.
“In 2027, ADC will not contest elections for the sake of contesting elections but with intention to win elections.
” The party will feature candidates that will win elections in all the elective positions in the South East in 2027,” it declared.
Calling on political elites in the region to adopt ADC as the vehicle for liberation, the party said: “We call on the South East political elites to think futuristically by joining the coalition and adopt the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as the only political party with the manifesto that focuses on liberation of South East from the shackles of bad governance and political mediocrity.”

The communique further announced the constitution of five high-powered committees to drive its goals: Contact and Mobilization Committee, Media and Publicity Committee, Conflict Resolution and Management Committee, Planning and Strategy Committee, and Resource Mobilization Committee.
Membership registration, according to the communique, is ongoing across all electoral wards in the South East.
“We therefore call on the people of South East to immediately troop out en masse to register and collect their membership cards in the registration centers,” it said.
The ADC leadership also vowed to win the forthcoming Anambra State governorship election, expressing confidence that by December 2025, ADC would emerge as the dominant political party in the zone.
The meeting condemned the worsening security situation in the South East and pledged to holistically combat insecurity once elected into power.
The communique was signed by Chilos Godsent, National Vice Chairman South East, and ThankGod Ofoelue, Zonal Publicity Secretary.
